Cold Nose Rescue & Sanctuary
Here at Cold Nose Kennels we have been doing Rescue work for a number of years. We are registered with the State of Nevada and we are a not for profit IRS 501(c)(3). We have dedicated ourselves to taking dogs who have difficult behavior issues from various Rescue Groups, Local Shelters, Owner Surrenders, as well as Court Ordered Surrenders. Many of these dogs were scheduled for euthanization and we became their "last chance."
Dogs we accept will go into a training/retraining, rehabilitation, rehomeing program which may last anywhere from 1-2 months to as long as a year or more, depending on the type(s) of behavioral issues that need to be addressed. Some behavior issues may never be completely resolved. As a result, those dogs will live out the rest of their lives with us.
We normally do not adopt dogs out of state, but will adopt dogs into Northern California and Southern Nevada homes. We require references, including a veterinary reference, home visits and an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary with a minimum of $100.00.
You may wish to consider working with a dog that is undergoing training and rehabilitation. That provides you the opportunity to build a relationship and bond with the dog. Both you and the dog will benefit. It gives you the opportunity to help prepare the dog for a future home, whether it be yours or another adopter.
Contact us if you are interested in adopting a dog. At any given time we may have a dog or several ready or very close to being ready for adoption. Breeds available range from German Shepherds, Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, Beagles, Labradors and some small breeds.
Visit our Facebook Page Cold Nose Rescue & Sanctuary or coldnoserescue.org for pictures and narratives on available or soon to be available dogs.
