BOARDING - We offer spacious outdoor kennels - our standard kennels are 6' high, 6' wide and 12' long. All our kennels have wood insulated dog houses in which we place 1/3 to 1/2 bale of wood chips for warmth and comfort. The size of these kennels is more than adequate for two dogs. We also have a number of oversized kennels available as well. Those kennels are ideal for folks who have 3 or more dogs and wish to have all their dogs kenneled together. All our kennels are covered and screened from the elements. For those dogs who are weather sensitive, we offer access to a temperature controlled environment. It is not unusual for us to take well behaved dogs into our home, particularly small dogs, such as Jack Russell Terriers, Yorkies, Chihuahuas, Dachshunds, etc. The base of our kennels is decomposed granite, since we do not believe in placing dogs on concrete. Kennels are cleaned at least three times daily, food (ours or yours) and fresh water is always available and dogs may be exercised according to the owner's preference (at no additional charge). Our facility is located on six fenced acres, so your dog(s) will have plenty of supervised opportunity to run and play by themselves or with other dogs. We also administer medications as necessary at a nominal cost ($3.50 per administration). Our prices are competitive, with base boarding prices set at $21.00 per day per dog. Due to the economy, spiraling delivery fuel, dog food and credit card prices our overhead has increased significantly, however it is our intention to maintain our current price structure as long as possible. Specialty services such as post-operative care, rehabilitation etc. are separately priced. Holiday prices will differ typically $25.00 per day per dog. .
FOOD - We have several primary food sources; We feed high quality food, primarily Beef & Rice, Lamb & Rice, Chicken & Rice, Salmon & Venison, etc. Other specialty foods are available (although at slightly higher prices). All our food includes high quality proteins like eggs, meat and fish, essential amino acids, natural vitamins and minerals. Our food does not contain corn, wheat or soy. This generally assists in lowering stool volume, reducing odors and easier waste removal. YOUR OWN FOOD - You are welcome to bring your own food if you wish. We do ask that you deliver your food in a rubbber maid, tupperware or similar container. Please Do Not bring a bag of dog food. Place a sheet of paper inside the container with your dog's name(s), indicate how much, and how many feedings per day, i.e. 2 cups a.m. and p.m. etc.
TRAINING WHILE YOU BOARD - A unique service offered to our customers. You may take advantage of the opportunity to have your dog receive introductory or refresher obedience training at the beginner, intermediate or advanced level during their stay. Whether your dog is here for two days, two weeks or longer, the convenience of having your dog receive training while you are away provides multiple benefits for both you and your dog. You may choose the amount of time for training, one day, two days, one week, etc. regardless of the length of the boarding period. For example, many of our clients who are taking a two week vacation will ask us to spend one week training their dog. Pricing varies depending on the type and length of training requested. TRAINING - We offer individualized instruction for both the dog and owner, as we do not provide group classes. We utilize a "soft hand" approach and DO NOT use choke collars or any electronic or electrical stimulus device. The only training devices we use is an "English Lead" "Freedom Harness" or "Holt Harness." Use of this training devices will allow you to utilize "one finger control" while walking and exercising your dog. Much of our training is "off leash" in order to facilitate the "recall" or "come" command. We offer treats on an indiscriminate basis as a reward for specific behaviors. Why indiscriminate? Because most people, including us, do not walk around with treats in our pockets, 24 hours a day. We believe in letting a "dog be a dog". As a result, our training methods focus on positive reinforcement, repetition, praise and affection. Generally, our training sessions will last from four to six weeks with four weeks being the average. Some dogs finish sooner and some take longer. Dogs brought to us for training are socialized with other dogs, horses, donkeys and cats. This results in your dog behaving appropriately when exposed to normal daily activities and distractions. We encourage you and your dog to visit us for an evaluation and watch us in action. We will do the training in front and with you so you can see first hand how to best relate to your dog. At the same time we offer helpful hints that you can take home with you and apply in your everyday travels. Yes, we train both you and your dog! That is why we design individual, customized training programs for the dog and owner. Everyone and every dog is different! Prices vary depending on the type of training requested/needed. We offer a variety of programs, including basic, intermediate and advanced obedience training, starter agility, starter show and starter hunter. Programs include individual lessons as well as the opportunity to board the dog here while undergoing training. Typically we customize our programs to your needs.
EQUIPMENT - We offer some of the most advanced training equipment available. These include but are not limited to collars, leashes, ski-joring, harnesses etc. Our training leash (English Lead) and harness (Freedom Harness) is one of the most popular and most requested specialty item we carry and includes a lifetime, one time free replacement, for any reason. Much of our equipment is hand-made, available in a variety of colors and styles.
